Hey Dave, what is the difference between a hot spark plug and a cold spark plug?
Heather, the difference between a hot and cold plug is the difference in the plug temperature after it is warmed up to operating temperature. This is done by the length of the center electrode and the amount of porcelain surrounding the electrode. A hotter plug will have a higher number than a colder plug.
Heather, take a look while at the automotive store some time, with the same plug but different heat ranges and look down inside the plug at the electrode end and you will notice the difference.
