Gene, install a speed bump in your driveway, just kidding!
It sounds to me like you have a loose connection behind the instrument panel. But first replace the fuse to the AC just in case it is faulty.
You may have a harness connection loose or just the set of wires going to your AC switch. I am sure you can access the switch by removing the radio, but to remove the radio, I really don’t know how difficult that may be.
Your situation is obviously not under the hood so stick to the instrument panel.
