James asks: I have a 2001 sable w/ dohc 3.0 engine. The check engine light came on (codes 0304, 0316). I replaced the plugs and wires.. The car runs great at speed but the codes return when the car idles at a traffic light..
James, the on-board diagnostic computer must be picking up something even though you don’t feel it. The next step would be to replace the coil pack, the one for cylinder #4 if there is more than one coil pack.
Hopefully you checked the gap on the plugs before installation. Hope this helps you James and good luck…Drive Safe…Dave
