Dave’s Free Car Repair Advice

Car repair question? Ask Dave - he’ll do his best to help you figure out what’s wrong with your car & how to get it fixed so it’s running like a new one.

Your car or truck goes through a lot of wear and tear during its time on the road. There are so many items in need of attention that it can be difficult to really focus on the proper maintenance at the right time for your car.

We all want to rely on our vehicles and the more maintenance that we are able to keep up, the more reliable our cars are in return for the proper care.

We should all be taking care of oil changes at the manufacturers recommended maintenance schedule, but a couple of car maintenance items are overlooked quite often and that is the automatic transmission fluid and the coolant in the engine.

These two important types of liquids should be flushed about once a year (spring is easy to remember, i.e. spring cleaning) to prepare your vehicle for the extreme heat of the summer and rid your car of the sludge buildup of normal wear and tear.

Your car dealer and many shops around your town or city will have the proper equipment to do the job correctly. It is money well spent and will increase the potential life of your car. Talk with your trusted mechanic and make an appointment while it is on your mind.

Some vehicles have one hundred thousand mile engine coolant that doesn’t need to be changed every year, although the level of the coolant should be checked on a regular basis.

Buckle Up…. Drive Safe…….
